Mole snake

• Adults usually light grey, light brown,olive or charcoal in colour
• Pointed head for burrowing
• Very aggressive and will bite readily – coils and hisses loudly
• Coils in order to protect its head
• Often mistaken for the darker phases of Cape Cobras
• Average size 1.2 – 1.6m but may reach lengths of 2m
• Favours variety of habitats, sandy shrubs and even mountainous regions
